Our Ministries
Children’s & Youth Ministry
Our Children’s and Youth Ministry focuses on caring and loving youth and their families. Our primary mission is to teach the story of God's love for us. We focus mostly on bible stories using age appropriate crafts and games while providing simple lessons that will be a foundation of faith for young children and youth. KidsChurch occurs every Sunday during the 9:30 service while youth meet Sunday afternoons. This fun ministry is a great way for kids to learn about God while making new friends.

In the fall Women’s Ministry organizes our famous White Elephant and Bake Sale. The proceeds from the sale are donated throughout the year to community organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Meals that Connect, SLO County Disabled Veterans, Captive Hearts, Children’s Resource Network and the Salvation Army.

Men’s Ministry
The mission of our Men’s Ministry is to connect the men of Saint John’s with one another. All men,16 years old and up, are welcome to attend.
On the first Saturday of the month men prepare and share breakfast together. After breakfast, we share devotional time, discuss challenging biblical passages or current events. Come and participate in our discussions or during food prep. Our guys also attend local community events together. Jesus always shows up!

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are lay members of Saint John’s family, trained to offer confidential, high-quality, one-on-one Christian care to people experiencing life crises such as loss of a loved one, divorce, hospitalization, disability, or job loss. Our Stephen Ministers are trained to provide emotional and spiritual support and to listen, care, pray, encourage, and hold hope for their care receivers. A Stephen Minister usually meets with their care receiver once each week for about an hour. All caring relationships are strictly confidential. We are the care givers and deeply believe that God is the cure giver. If you hear God’s call to serve in this way, we would love to have you join us in this life-changing ministry.

Music Ministries
Do you like to sing or play an instrument? Our choir, handbell choir, worship band, and organist take great joy in conveying God’s love and word through music and song, uplifting both those who sing and those who hear.
The worship band plays every Sunday during the 9:30 contemporary service only. Choir and handbells practice during the week and sing and play periodically at both the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services. Organists play hymns at the 11 a.m. traditional service.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the worship band, contact Janice Goodwin.
If you are interested in choir, handbells, or organ, contact: Shari Bowman.
Fun, Fitness & Fellowship
The FFF group meets monthly (when the weather is nice) for fitness activities around the county. We hike, go for walks, play pickleball or disc golf, and even participate in local races. This is a ministry focusing on creating fellowship with others from Saint John’s while creating a relaxing and welcoming environment for friends and family.

Prayer Ministry
Our Prayer Ministry reviews prayer requests received on Sundays and lifts up those requests and needs in prayer during the week. The team also gathers information about others who are facing challenges as well as updates to previous prayer requests.
The ministry primarily relies on email to distribute information about prayer requests and congregational/community needs.
